Traveling along the route between Herat and Kandahar , he not only recorded routes and caravan stops but also captured poetic moments from the natural environment and the culture of the people of Afghanistan. Among these observations, his descriptions of nights in the wilderness, the lives of nomadic people...

Unlike many other forms of Attan, Spinning Attan is generally performed by a small group of dancers accompanied by the dhol and harmonium. The dance is characterized by rapid and continuous spinning, coordinated body movements, and the rhythmic use of colorful scarves. The dancers’ movements, including changes in spinning patterns, scarf gestures, and head and body movements, create a dynamic visual and musical performance. The article also explores the traditional performance space, the use of bare feet, and the role of the dance in weddings, celebrations, fairs, and other joyful communal ...
